Silas Parker isn't the worst billionaire a guy could date...
Rehab life isn't easy for Silas Parker. He's trying to start his life over, but one wrong move and suddenly he's face-to-face with the first man he truly loved. When Silas stands up for him, he has to wonder if he's changing more than he thought he could. Despite losses that threaten his financial status and ego, is he on his way to becoming the man of someone's dreams?
Talented Key host, home handyman, sweet, and strong-willed Harry Fields is surprised by a text from Silas Parker. The only man to go from Harry's workplace to his home, Silas seemed to think of Harry as a toy, so Harry broke things off with him last year. He won't let the bastard break his heart again. He's focusing on renovations and work rather than looking for love again. When the two meet again unexpectedly, Harry notices that something seems different about Silas now. Has he really changed?
Harry and Silas must hide their growing relationship from their closest friends and family, even Felix and Ian. How long can that last in a world determined to pry into the secrets of the rich and famous?
This is a stand-alone novel with a HEA ending and NO cliffhanger.

I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another fun novel about the Parker brothers!I thoroughly enjoyed this sizzling erotic romance which shows bad boy Silas’ redemption and his developing relationship with Harry, one of my favorite characters from “Third Chances”. The tone of “New Chances” is a bit darker and harder-edged than “Third Chances” since Silas has issues to resolve and Harry works as a host at The Key club. It was wonderful to check in on the progress of Felix and Ian’s romance, and especially to have Silas refer to Ian as his brother-in-law, even though neither Felix nor Ian has yet proposed to the other.
This reader would welcome more novels in the series. How about a novel featuring Oz and his boyfriend? Alan, the new host at The Key (replaced Ian as a host), is also intriguing. Of course, I’d also want to continue reading about Silas, Harry, Felix, and Ian’s romantic adventures. I’d still like to meet Felix and Silas’ parents, as well as Ian’s and Harry’s. More of Callie the cat, too!
The story flowed well with relatively few errors—greatly appreciated by this reader. Occasional awkward phrasing did not detract much from the flow of the story.
My favorite moment: Silas arriving at Harry’s house in his construction duds, flowers in hand.
If you enjoyed this novel and haven’t yet read “Third Chances”, I recommend you do so. Immerse yourself in Ian, Felix, and Callie’s story! For ultra-hot erotic stories by E. Davies, read the serial “Tied to His Job”, followed by more installments in “Bound to the Billionaire”.
Questions and Quibbles:
ADDENDUM ON 23 APRIL: Since I first posted comments regarding the ARC copy I received (with somewhat different Kindle location markers), the author has made fixes to the text. Silas is now 29 years old with brown hair and brown eyes and is older than Harry. Harry has blond hair (including his eyebrows) and green eyes. Felix, as in “Third Chances”, is also blond-haired. The other items have been changed/clarified, except as indicated below.
Please note: Subsequent to receiving an ARC copy, I purchased the novel for the super-bargain price of $0.99. It’s a steal whether borrowed via Kindle Unlimited or purchased at the full price of $3.99.
A FIX STILL TO BE MADE: The misuse of “arousal” as a synonym for penis is annoying. An arousal is a state of being; it’s not a penis. E. Davies alternates between using arousal correctly and incorrectly in this novel as well as in “Third Chances”. “Arousal is used correctly at Loc 1938 and 3056. Examples of incorrect usage: “The sensitive nerves in his arousal adjusted quickly to Silas's light, teasing touches, so his partner closed his hand around the velvety shaft to start stroking in a quick rhythm. (Loc 1988) “The best part was always the bliss that washed over him, the heat that burned from his face all the way down to his toes and especially concentrated on the hard arousal that was now softening in Silas's grip.” (Loc 2005) Men and women experience arousal. Unlike a cock, one cannot hold an arousal in one’s grip.
--Confusion about Silas and Felix’s age: In “Third Chances”, Raymond, Felix’s house manager, is referred to as being in his early to mid-thirties, with the Parker brothers being a few years younger. Ian, who’s 24, often refers to Felix as his hot, older lover.
Yet, in “New Chances”, both Silas and Harry repeatedly refer to each other as young. Harry is 26 and shaves three years off his age when serving as a host. He mentions that Silas is one year younger, just 25 years old. That would mean, Felix, one year younger than Silas and Ian’s older lover, is the same age as Ian!
Raymond, Felix’s house manager, crops up again in “New Chances”. This time he’s in his early 30’s, with the brothers a few years younger. If he’s in his early 30’s, Silas should be almost 30, with Felix just a year behind. Both brothers should be older than Harry and Ian.
The age inconsistencies between “Third Chances” and “New Chances” should be fixed. Felix and Silas won the lottery as very young men (Loc 122, “New Chances”), but their age at the time is not specified. Silas worked as a landscaper the summer after his freshman year of college, before winning the lottery. In “Third Chances”, Felix has had household staff for at least six years since the big win, and Silas lives with him since he blew through his share of the money. So, if Silas was 19 and Felix 18 when they won the lottery, they could be 25 and 24 respectively. But, that doesn’t really match up with being a few years younger than Raymond or with Felix presented as an experienced businessman and Ian’s older lover.
--There were a few places where I couldn’t decide what was meant as well as instances of name confusion.
At Loc 1177, I couldn’t determine what pace Ian and Harry knew better than Felix. “Both of them knew even better than Felix how slow the pace really was.” Why would they know the slow relationship pace better if this refers to Silas? Harry hasn’t yet told Ian about Silas.
At Loc 1506, I couldn’t decide what Harry felt guilty about. “He'd once told himself, long ago when he'd started work at The Key, that the moment he felt guilt over something he did, he'd stop.” Harry then decides to ignore rules or anything else that might keep him and Silas apart. Is Harry breaking Key club rules, rules that Silas should follow at the recovery center, or something else? What rules? Whose rules?
At Loc 1579, “Harry lay awake for a few moments more, his light blond eyelashes so delicately hiding those pretty green eyes.” Harry’s asleep when Silas is awake and looking at him. “Harry” should be “Silas” and the text should be altered to read something along the lines of “Silas lay awake a few moments longer, observing Harry, whose light blond eyelashes so delicately hid those pretty green eyes.”
At Loc 1599, “Ian” should be “Harry”: “He nearly tripped putting his socks on standing up, which made Ian laugh and move towards him to try to catch him.”
At Loc 1986, Silas is speaking to Gary, so “Silas” should be changed to “Declan”. “I'm in trouble about Harry, but not... anything else. Silas is gone.”
--Confusion about hair and eye color also occurred throughout “New Chances”. Consistency is needed within “New Chances” and from “Third Chances” to “New Chances”.
Felix suddenly becomes dark haired (Loc 2134) even though he was blond throughout “Third Chances”.
Harry’s blond-haired. Why would his brows be dark (Loc 2242) although his eyelashes are light blond (Loc 1579, see above)?
One of the men on the cover should be a blond. I'm guessing that's Harry on the left, since the tormented/repentant-looking one must be Silas.
Harry has green eyes (Loc 717, 980, 1579) which suddenly turn blue (Loc 3267).
Silas’ eye color varies between blue (Loc 768), brown (Loc 214, 930), a non-specific “light” shade (Loc 1428), and possibly green (Loc 2181).
--At Loc 2864, there’s a bit of confusion with “brother”. “’Thanks for fixing things with Ryder and Declan,’ Ian answered. ‘I'm glad my brother has you... and my best friend has you.’ He glanced at Harry.” Ian’s speaking to Silas and doesn’t have a brother present for the conversation. Presumably, he means he’s glad Felix has Silas as a brother. This should be reworded.

New Chances Parker Brothers Book 2 edition by E Davies Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed Silas and Harry’s story. They had been together before, but Silas wouldn’t commit and Harry sent him away. A year later, after Silas essentially has a break down and spends a bunch of his money, he is placed into a recovery center to learn how to approach relationships better and take care of himself. He begins thinking of his and Harry’s relationship, regretting what happened. He ends up seeing Harry at his recovery center with someone else and it sparks both of their emotions and attraction once again. As they begin to work on their relationship from a better place, they work on their problems and build up trust again. Silas will do anything for Harry and puts himself in an unflattering situation in order to save Harry’s name and any embarrassment.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I had a difficult time maintaining my interest for the first few pages. However, I am so glad that I kept reading because I found that I could not put the book down reading late into the night! Silas was introduced in the first book Third Chances as an irresponsible, hard core partier felt entitled to use money that didn't belong to him.
New Chances is Silas' story about rehabilitation for the sake of his brother and his future brother-in-law. He was just floating through the treatment until through therapy he finally made a break through that made him realize that he wanted what his brother's respect back and also the type of relationship that Felix and Ian had.
He starts thinking about Harry, the only man that he remembers with regret. They had dated the previous year but Harry kicked Silas to the curb because of his failure to commit.
There are twists and turns that happen on the way to recovery and happiness for Silas. I highly recommend this book!
Silas and Harry have an uphill battle from the get-go as Silas tries to win back the love of his life. While Harry walked away from Silas previously, it seems that fate wants them together. Harry sees the changes that Silas is trying to make, and decides to give him a chance. But, it's going to be far from easy. So far, out of all the books that I've read from this author, this book is my favorite by far. To me, it almost felt like the characters were real, and I was drawn into the story and didn't want to leave. I cheered when good things happened, cringed when tough decisions needed to be made, and laughed when it felt like it was needed. Both of the main characters have challenges to face, both together and separate, but they overcome them for their HEA. If you're a fan of MM romance, definitely add this to your library.
I received an ARC for an honest review of this story.
This is a good read, it is about m/m so if you don't like that this isn't for you. I like how the story flowed and ended.
I gave this book 4 stars..I took a star away because I wasn't happy with Harry keeping on with his "job" at the club after he and
Silas had decided to get back together and be boyfriends. Other than that...I liked the story and with everything that E. Davies writes it was well written and I loved the story as a whole.
